Mesh - Mesh EP

Born Yesterday

Mesh _ Mesh EP born yesterday records

King Gizzard meets early Joy Division - more specifically their 'Warsaw' period - as Philly based band 'Mesh' release their first collection of tracks in the Mesh EP - a mixture of possessed post-punk and heavy groove based jams sunken neath a layer of low end and kaleidoscopic smog.

Evil sounding front-man Sims Hardin comes across as if he was born from the events of a seance gone wrong - conjuring up the spirits of post-punk's past. Lyrically batshit and musically jangly the Mesh EP has all the ingredients of a release rooted in post-punk's revered history.

The Mesh EP isn't necessarily anything new, ground-breaking or death defying, but at the end of the day that's not the point. Press play and enjoy the slightly disturbed, psychedelically touched sounds of Mesh. Clocking in at 12 minutes in length you really can't go wrong. 'CIA Mind Control' will go down as one of the best tracks of the year no doubt - add it to your playlists, get ahead of the curve. A full length project is sure to tickle the taste buds.

Mesh consists of the aforementioned Sims Hardin on songwriting and vocal duties, Allison Durham on guitar, Tom Riese on bass and Steve Darling on drums.

The ghosts of post-punk's past have never been more present.
