Naked Flames - Binc Rinse Repeat EP

naked flames _ binc rinse repeat dismiss yourself no agreements

Binc Rinse Repeat is the latest installment in outsider house and all round electronic wizard Naked Flames' discography. It taps into that lovely space that we all find ourselves from time to time. That space being the daydream state. Naked Flames place an upbeat edge into the mix and turn up the lo-fi tendencies to create the soundtrack of your lucid moments.

Forward in its momentum, this EP is on a one-way street. While the groove stays on track the atmospheres shape-shift into textural oblivion. Nothing short of atmospherically dense, Naked Flames conjures up ascension-like feelings. There's something to be said about music that manages to please both a deep sense of rhythm rooted in what we would call reality all the while seemingly taking off into the dream realm.

Binc Rinse Repeat is the sort of thing to let loose at a warehouse get to together and get lost in the repetitive nature of it all. Time stands relatively still as Relief Rinse works its way through to the final track Waydown.

Originally, I confess, I passed it off as a bit lifeless and dull. That was until I returned a couple of weeks later. On further inspection and repeated listens it proved to be masterfully crafted with a whole lot of of ethereal waves washing over the listeners mindset. Cleansing the psyche simultaneously. It goes to show that returning to things for a final thought are important. They may well be the most essential thing a music fan can do. The deal breaker and in this case the deal maker.

A short and very sweet trip through immensely colourful and vibrant spaces.
