The Alchemist's second project of 2021 - the first being 'Haram', a collaboration with Armand Hammer - shows his knack for creating space in which a vast amount of artistic freedom can air itself out. Creators of said space are just as pivotal and vital as the material within its framework. This space is what the canvas is to the painter.

No other producer has as solid a track record over the last few years as The Alchemist. He's the go-to guy for consistently great soundtracks. He fits into peoples visions like a glove - and vice versa. The instrumentals that he cooks up are open to interpretation - this being the reason why his sound is as flexible and in demand as it is. Smooth, soothing instrumentals - cool as a light breeze - lay the foundations for the words of six relatively similar MC's - Earl Sweatshirt, Pink Siifu, Boldy James, Sideshow, Navy Blue and Maxo - and their cadence to dissolve - massage-like - into the minds eye. Sit back, relax, put on your thinking caps and let the lounge-like vibes wash over your psyche.

Vivid, vibrant pictures are painted over the course of four tracks making 'This Thing of Ours' an incredibly rewarding short project. At 10 minutes in length - not including the lone instrumentals - you just can't go wrong. A full length collaborative project between this collective of bright, brilliant talents is something the world didn’t know that it needed.
