Boris - At Last -Feedbacker-

December 25th, 2003.

2003's Christmas present came in five parts of beauty and brutality in equal measures. A fine balance between hope and despair. On the edge and over the edge - the verge of something else comes with a heavy price to pay; it may be the last thing that you do. Buy the record. Take the ride. 'At Last -Feedbacker-' is a true experience. A journey. An overhaul of the familiar, while still remaining entrenched in that which we know.

An ocean of tones - the storm is coming. Best to prepare, but some things can't be prepared for - only met head on; face first. Far out, the waves seem like they're of no threat - a big mistake to make. Prepare for the flood. Reeled in by a false sense of security, annihilation on another level is the only guarantee. The sun rises and scorches all that it lays its eyes on - nothing is safe, only sorry. Cries of sorrow rain from the mouths of those that knowingly took the wrong path. Easy choices, hard life. Nothing to live up to, nothing on the line, nothing to lose. The mirage comes crumbling down. Everything you've never worked for floats away in the wind; glad to free itself of a possible burden - under the potential control of a sorry serpent. All avenues drained of potential from day one. Crushed to a shrieking pulp - the weight of the worlds withered soul bears down. It's all downhill from here. Descend in to the depths. Incessant sounds of wailing woes line the way. Spirits stretched from the flesh. Pulled apart by horses. Further and further you go. Don't look back; there's nothing here for you. There's no way back from here anyway. The remainder, a scorched existence - eternal heat and damnation. Never quenching a thirst, never fulfilling hunger. On the edge of nothingness, everything's neither here nor there.

Feedbacker is a sonic sphere unto itself. A world away, but painfully - at times, beautifully - close to home.
